UltraEQ
The UltraEQ
The UltraEQ is a wireless technology that administers ultrasound therapy to any part of a horse. UltraEQ produces continuous ultrasound waves, which produce a convective flow, called acoustic streaming, up to 5 cm into tissue. Combined with an increase in heat and circulation, the sustained mechanical pressure increases the bulk flow of nutrients and growth factors throughout damaged areas, enhancing natural healing. UltraEQ is backed by over 30 clinical research studies funded by the National Institutes of Health and the US Department of Defense.
The Science Behind It
When Ultra EQ is applied, the mechanical forces activate cell membrane receptors, enhancing cellular proliferation
- Upregulation of TGF-B- increases type I and III collagen deposition, which promotes native tissue regeneration
- Result is greater tensile strength and improved biomechanical properties of the tendon
Mechanisms of action
- Accelerates collagen matrix rebuild
- Stimulates angiogenesis
- Increases cytokine enzyme and cellular waste removal
- Increases oxygenated hemoglobin in tissue and multi-hour blood flow
Clinical Applications & Advantages
UltraEQ has multiple clinical applications that can help a veterinarian using this product to treat several conditions.
- Soft tissue injuries
- Tendinopathy
- Osteoarthritis
- Musculoskeletal injuries
